I noticed this building the week of Feb 18, but didn't blog about it. Thanks for the info. I went there and took some photo myself.

I called the number to ask for basic info but the lady who answered doesn't have a clue of the exact opening date except for "this Summer". She doesn't even know the exact address of the building. My guess is she's below the line of the Bally authority.
I believe it should be a great addition to the Journal Square/Jersey City area...Besides going all the way to Union city-North Bergen or the 6 Ave on 19 st. sucks why pay the Path fare~! There aren't any good gyms near by in this area period. The price for memberships here at Bally's has gone down for the good part and the other gyms downtown or otherwise around the Jersey city area are smaller, packed with men and posssibly don't or will not have too many amenities. Only time will tell if This Bally's will do the honors of supplying the bulk...Sauna, showers, Steam, swimming pool?! Lets hope for the BEst!
I live in State Square and we have a tie-up with the gym. There is no pool but it does have the steam+sauna.
Will open in July from what I remember.
I walk past this site every day on my way to the PATH. Looks like they are working on it so the good news is that we're probably going to have a Bally's gym opening near Journal Square, bad news is that it's looking less and less like a Summer opening. Someone else made the comment that there are no gyms in this area. I've been watching this site with interest for this reason. In the mean time I go to a gym in Manhattan that I like. We'll see. ...
A friend tells me, tentative, the opening will be February 2, 2009. Lets see if this definitely holds true!
4 floors, though he sent me pictures, i will personally pass by and see for myself. Being that they are in the midst of hiring employees as well *).
